ODESD2 furniture in CityLife Shopping District in Milan

27.12.2017

CityLife Shopping District was opened in the city centre of Milan at the end of 2017. The project with the area of 32000.0 m2 was created by Zaha Hadid Architects bureau and the project director Gianluca Racana.

It is located above Tre Torri station on the M5 line of Milan’s Metro network. The new shopping district integrates a public park with indoor and outdoor piazzas, food hall, restaurants, cafes, a cinema, facilities for health and wellbeing as well as numerous shops.

The CityLife redevelopment will be fully completed in 2020. It will include 1 000 new homes, offices for almost 10 000 staff, a new park, piazzas and a kindergarten. The shopping district will welcome seven million visitors each year.

In the interior of this shopping and entertainment district there are bamboo flooring, ceilings and columns. 16 V1 lounge chairs by ODESD2 design bureau were placed in an inner piazza with a restaurant. Chairs are popular among visitors: the largest number of Instagram broadcasts, photos from the food zone are made exactly in them.
